Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow....

My chicken enjoying the snow.

Here I am snow-boarding.

Oh no! Dad has the shovel! Run!

Dad, giving me a cold and wet surprise!

My snow brothers, sledding down the hill.

My sister and I awoke at 6:40 to a bright morning. The reason being was that there was snow all over the ground! As soon as my sister and I saw the snow outside we ran to our parents room and asked them if we could get our snow clothes down from the attic. Our parents agreed and got up to get dressed for the snow. The depth of the snow ranged from 3-5 inch. Here are some pictures...

Discouragement

Yesterday my Dad and I read a chapter from Created For Work by Bob Schultz. We read this book and another one which I will write about later, when we spend time together to talk and learn. This lesson was called Side Stepping Discouragement. The lesson was about dealing with discouragement.
Fact: When we work we will always meet up with discouragement.

Here is an example that I made up from my own life.

I won't clean my room anymore becausethe last time that I did my parents said that I missed alot of areas. That thought comes from feeling discouraged.
What I Should think: My parents pointed out areas that I need to work on. Next time I'll do an even better job and make sure I take care of the areas they told me about.

We should never allow discouragement to stop us from doing what we have to do.

If I don't feel like cleaning my room (or any other job), instead of feeling bad about what I have to do I should just do it! If you do what you don't feel like doing the feeling of discouragement may disappear completely.

Discouragement makes a person lazy because they feel sorry for themselves and have no motivation to do what they don't feel like doing. We don't always have motivation to do what we have to but that is life and being responsible. Remember, discouragement will make you lazy and then selfish, thinking only of yourself. The feelings of discouragement, laziness and selfishness can destroy a person. Crash through the walls of discouragement like a real soldier of God should.

Finish First

Two nights ago my Dad and I were reading a book called Created For Work by Bob Schultz.

The lesson we read was called Promptly After, But Not Before.

The lesson was about not excepting pay before you start or finish a job. Think about it...
Let's say that you offer to clean Mr. Stern's yard tomorrow (Friday) . He will be at a business meeting and won't be there the day you clean. Mr.Stern offers to pay you in advance and you except the offer. The next day(Friday) you're not feeling well. You're not able to go clean Mr. Stern's yard like you said you would. The next day (Saturday) Mr. Stern comes back amd sees that his yard is still a mess. And as you can imagine Mr.Stern is not exactly a person who takes excuses kindly. This causes difficulties and now Mr.Stern is sorry he trusted you and that he gave you money in advance. He will definitely not want to hire you to do yard work for him again.

When you get paid before you finish your work or job you may have little motivation to finish your work. You may not try as hard to do your best work when paid ahead because you were already paid before time. When you wait until you finish your work to get paid you look forward to receiving your reward after you finish your work. This often motivates to do your best to please the person employing you.

Teasing and Murder

I read a really great verse from Proverbs 26 while reading my devotions yesterday. V.18-19: As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death, So is the man that deceiveth his neighbor, and saith,Am not I in sport?

This verse means that the person that says, "I'm just joking!" or "I'm just kidding!" is like an out of his mind murderer. We should not take this lightly. We should never take any part of the Bible lightly.

Being Justified by Faith or Works?

Two Sundays ago Mr. Brown talked about Galatians 2:14-20.

Man is always looking for ways to please other men and to have favor in man's eyes. We should seek to find favor in God's eyes not mans. When we do that we will find favor in mans eyes too.
Man cannot be justified by works even if you are the best person on earth you cannot be justified by that! You can only be justified by believing in Christ and obeying what the Bible tells us to do.

"Let go and let God" is a misinterpretation of verse 16. But wilt thou know, o vain man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2:20). You can't just trust God for something and do nothing! It is like a man looking for a job; he asks God for a job and he has faith that God will give him a job, so then he sits in his house trusting God that he will give him a job and meanwhile do nothing. THAT'S JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! The man needs to trust God to help him search for a job. Then the man has to go out and look for a job and apply where he can.

Now a last comment about the main topic...Faith. Faith is abandoning all your faith in things of this world and putting your faith only in God.

Persecution for Christ

I promised earlier this week that I would post some sermon reports. Here is one of my overdue sermon reports.

Mr. Horn talked about 2-Timothy 3:10-17 .

We are to expect persecution from men when you speak the Gospel in public. You cannot speak about the Gospel in the public without some man (or woman) rising up against you. That is a good sign. The devil knows that what you are doing is right so he will try to discourage you and persecute you. It is an honor to know that you are suffering for Christ. If you speak the true Gospel and don't do what you preach than you won't offend the world, but you will offend God. That's how you know what your doing is right...if others are offended by your godly life!

Notes:

It is impossible to completely demolish the Bible out of this world. We should not think that it was our forefathers or us that protected the Word of God because it was the Holy Spirit.

If you learn something new from the Bible or from a man of God and don't apply it to your life you will be worse off than before you heard it.

All of scripture was inspired by God.

The Bible has answers for every problem in life.

It's Time To Wear The Pants!

At the Sufficiency of Scripture Conference, we went to last month, Ken Ham, read this Docker's ad to us during his speech. Dockers is a company that makes pants for both men and woman. They are not a christian company.

Here is what the ad says:

Once upon a time, men wore the pants, and wore them well. Women rarely had to open doors and little old ladies never crossed the street alone. Men took charge because that’s what they did. But somewhere along the way, the world decided it no longer needed men. Disco by disco, latte by foamy non-fat latte, men were stripped of their khakis and left stranded on the road between boyhood and androgyny. But today, there are questions our genderless society has no answers for. The world sits idly by as cities crumble, children misbehave and those little old ladies remain on one side of the street. For the first time since bad guys, we need heroes. We need grown-ups. We need men to put down the plastic fork, step away from the salad bar and untie the world from the tracks of complacency. It’s time to get your hands dirty. It’s time to answer the call of manhood. It’s time to WEAR THE PANTS.

In case you don't know what androgyny means, here is the definition:

Main Entry: an·drog·y·nous
Pronunciation: \an-ˈdrä-jə-nəs\
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin androgynus hermaphrodite, from Greek androgynos, from andr- + gynē woman — more at queen
Date: 1651
1 : having the characteristics or nature of both male and female
2 a : neither specifically feminine nor masculine them>
b : suitable to or for either sex

I hope men in America will start to be real men and men of God. I want to be a real man of God.

Happy New Year!

Hello and Happy New Year to Everyone!

It's been a while since I last posted. I haven't been diligent about writing in my blog. In this new year I am planning to be more consistent in posting, so check back as much as you can.

God has blessed us richly! The day before Thanksgiving we found out that the Lord has given us a new brother,or sister! When my sister and I found out that my mom was pregnant we danced with joy! My mom is two and a half months pregnant now!

I have some sermon reports from the past few weeks that I will post next week.

May your new year be blessed!
